The city of Urbino is located between the valleys of the Metauro and Foglia rivers, on two hills at 451 meters above sea level, from which one can enjoy a vast panorama that embraces green hills and majestic mountains. The historic center has an extension of just over a square kilometre, enclosed within bastioned walls and entirely built in baked bricks. To visit Piazza del Mercatale, Piazza Rinascimento, the Palazzo Ducale and the Galleria Nazionale delle Marche, rich in Renaissance works, the Oratory of S. Giuseppe and Piazzale Roma.
