IL CASTELLO DEGLI AGOLANTI
Having become vassals of the Malatesta, the Agolanti were for a long time considered lords of the county of Arcione. From Pistoia, where they descended from the powerful Tedici of Lombard origin, they spread throughout Italy.
Forced to flee, they settled permanently in Rimini in 1260, asking for protection from the local authorities.
Their only surviving building is this Castle, also called the White Tomb. Judged in 1743 by the notary Ubaldo Marchi "one of the factories, indeed the best in the Rimino area", it recently underwent a major restructuring that also affected the entire surrounding area.
