SALINARO FOR A DAY
In the Camillone salt pan in Cervia every day the salt is collected by hand (in turns).
The so-called "sea crust" formed in the various collection basins is taken: this technique is called "multiple collection" and has been so for more than a century.
For 30 years the volunteers of the "Civiltà salinara" association have kept the traditions of salt harvesting alive.
In addition to the guided tour, it is possible to become a salt worker for a day, under the guidance of an expert, every Tuesday, until August.
For normal visits, the days are Sunday and Thursday afternoons from 5pm until mid-September.
