ROMIO VINEYARDS - ROMAGNA IN A BOTTLE
For the Romio line, Caviro has carefully selected the most expert winemakers from Romagna and the best vines, relying on wineries that combine the most modern production processes.
Each bottle tells a piece of Romagna history, just like the wine it contains.
The narration of this sincere land, loving mother of all the vines in the line, takes place through the archetypes of Romagna culture present on the labels, each paired with the wine that best represents it.
Each illustration is a work of art, created by local artisan Barbara Donati according to the ancient technique of xylography.
Used for centuries in the peasant tradition to decorate tablecloths, curtains and blankets for oxen, at the beginning of the twentieth century it became the symbol of Romagna's cultural vivacity.
With its rough and angular, but also ironic, style, xylography is the technique that best represents the character of the people of Romagna, and therefore also of Romio wines: from the carefree nature of the Riviera to the passion of Latin lovers, from the harshness of bandits to the courage of motorcyclists.
The Vigneti Romio project aims to perfect the quality of wines, starting from the measures adopted in the field and on the vine up to the adoption of the best winemaking techniques.
To obtain well-defined wines, a specific protocol has been established, which involves careful agronomic management of the vineyard through constant monitoring of all stages of grape ripening and, consequently, of their qualitative state.
The best Romio wines are:
- Novebolle Romagna DOC Spumante Bianco Extra Dry "Intrigante"
A lively and brilliant yellow, it reveals fruity notes of citrus and exotic fruits on the nose, alongside floral flavours for a precise, clean and elegant tasting. On the palate it is fresh and savoury, the perlage is fine and pleasant.
- Romagna DOC Trebbiano "Fresco"
It has a strong straw yellow colour and greenish reflections. On the nose it reveals delicate and persistent floral aromas where the note of apple prevails followed by acacia flowers. On the palate it is fresh, mineral and savoury. All the aromas perceived on the nose are confirmed on the palate.
- Romagna DOC Sangiovese Superiore Riserva "Intenso"
Very intense ruby red, typical hints of cherry, blackberry followed by sweet vanilla and spicy notes. On the palate it is very complex and enveloping with a balanced acidity. This complexity and structure lead to a very long, elegant and warm finish.
- Romagna Rubicone IGT Appassimento "Autentico"
Of an intense purple red colour, with violet reflections, this Sangiovese passito has concentrated aromas of blackberry, raisin and cherry. These fruity scents are complemented by a spicy note, which crowns the olfactory profile of the wine. On the palate, it is complex and enveloping, balanced in acidity and harmonious for the softness of its velvety tannins. The finish is long and elegant.
- Novebolle Romagna DOC Spumante Rosato Extra Dry "Romantico"
A light rosé with lively and brilliant reflections. On the nose it expresses itself with dominant notes of red fruits and hints of peach in syrup while maintaining an incredibly fresh note. On the palate it is fresh and savory and crunchy, the perlage is fine and pleasant.
- Famoso Rubicone IGT "Spensierato"
Bright yellow with intense reflections, intense floral aromas stand out on the nose, followed by the classic fruity returns of yellow peach and a balsamic finish of jasmine and citrus. On the palate it is fresh and soft, with a savory finish.
