THE HUMBOLDT PENGUINS
These penguins are found on the coasts of Chile and Peru, hence the name "Humboldt". They can reach 60 cm in height and can live about 20 years. They mainly eat krill, molluscs and sardines, they do not go deeper than 30 meters. They live in groups and form a permanent pair for life. The pups are born from an egg hatched by both parents, in turns, for about 32 days. As soon as they are born, the cubs are gray and covered with very soft fur and when they become adults, they acquire black and white plumage with touches of pink.
