THE HISTORICAL CENTER OF RIMINI
The city of Rimini holds a cultural, historical and artistic heritage richer than ever!
It starts from the famous Arch of Augustus, via Flaminia and via Emilia (the two most important roads of the Roman era). After Piazza Tre Martiri (ancient Roman forum), we find the Tiberius Bridge built in 21 AD. in Istrian stone.
Continue until you reach the Domus del Chirurgo, a Roman house from the second half of the 2nd century. The meeting point of the people of Rimini is the Fontana della Pigna, in Piazza Cavour, where there is also the Vecchia Pescheria (characteristic place of the city).
The work of Leon Battista Alberti is the Tempio Malatestiano, a monument of the Renaissance era. The Gambalunga Library is over 400 years old and is the first public and civic library opened in Italy.
Rimini has given new life to other historic buildings such as the Amintore Galli Theater, inaugurated in 1857 by Giuseppe Verdi; the Part (palaces of art); the Porta Galliana (ancient gate of the navy); the Fulgor Cinema; the Grand Hotel in Rimini.
The Fellini Museum, inaugurated in 2021, is located between Palazzo Fulgor, the Rocca Malatestiana, Castel Sigismondo and Piazza dei Sogni.
