SANTIAGO'S WALK
The Camino de Santiago is located in Spain and it is the most famous pilgrimage in the world which has as its destination the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, a region of Spain.
It has an itinerary with several routes throughout Europe, all of which end in the same place.
It has been an uninterrupted route since the 9th century, a time when the declamation of the discovery of the tomb of St. James the Greater, one of the most intimate of Jesus' apostles, dates back to following the appearance of a star on a field at a hill called Libredòn, which indicated to a pious hermit of the time, the place where the relics of the saint lay. From all this derives the name of the city that was born there. Santiago de Compostela in memory of that star which, like the comet, guided the Magi to Bethlehem.
In recent years there has been a pilgrimage of over 200,000 pilgrims annually.
Not necessarily to take this path you have to be religious people, the only thing you need is the desire to live an experience that allows you to rediscover the true nature of man, the depths of one's heart and souls.
The journey is about 800km long from the Pyrenees to Galicia.
Among all the cities and villages that you will cross during the journey, the main ones with a great artistic and cultural richness are:
-Pamplona
-Logrono
-Burgos
- Leon
-Astorga
