PO DELTA PARK
The Regional Park of the Po Delta of Emilia-Romagna is a protected natural area, about 54 000 hectares, located in the Emilia Romagna region.
It is one of the most beautiful oases in Italy, as well as the second largest wetland, housing hundreds and hundreds of animal and plant species.
Since 1999, the Po Delta Park has been included in the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Water has been the absolute protagonist for centuries, the Po has been an extraordinary resource, first for the simple supply of water, then for fishing, for irrigation and finally as a way of communication.
The populations have also suffered the periods of floods and those of lean, adapting to the will of a river.
Even today, the delta represents a dynamic environment, in continuous evolution, where nature is free to give new lands emerged or to take back parts of them.
Different activities are available, different ways to experience this natural ecosystem, walks, boat rides, cycling or horseback riding.
