PALACE OF TOURISM - RICCIONE
Built in 1938 to a design by Gogliardo Ossani from Rimini, the Palazzo del Turismo in Riccione is the first structure on the Adriatic built for tourism promotion and entertainment.
Clad in white travertine stone, it was renovated and expanded in the 1980s. Headquarters of the municipal offices of tourist services, it hosts conferences, exhibitions and events in its large rooms.
On the square in front of the building you can appreciate the beautiful Fountain of the Swimmer, donated in 1958 by the Milanese Manicone family in memory of their son who died prematurely. In memory of the young man, the prestigious Adriatic Swimming Marathon was organized from 1954 to 1974. The fountain, which reproduces his trophy, is the work of the architect Elio Monesi and the sculptor Remo Braschi.
