MR RAIN
Mr. Rain, pseudonym of Mattia Balardi (born in Desenzano del Garda on 19 November 1991), is an Italian rapper and record producer.
He began his musical activity in 2011, when he released his debut mixtape Time 2 Eat. Regarding the choice of his stage name, Balardi explained that he is only able to compose music when it rains.
In 2013 he participated in the selections of the seventh edition of In January of the following year he undertook his first tour, performing in the main Italian cities.
On May 12, 2015 Mr. Rain released his first album Memories, preceded by the single Tutto che ho. The album consists of sixteen songs, including Carillon, certified double platinum by FIMI in 2018. On 2 June 2016, Supereroe was released, certified gold.
On January 27, 2017, the single I grandi non pipian mai mai was released, followed on June 21 by Rainbow Soda and on September 22 by Superstite. On January 5, 2018, Ipernova was presented, which anticipated the second album Butterfly Effect, released on the 26th of the same month; a second single, Oops, was made available on May 17. On September 21, the album was re-released under the title Butterfly Effect 2.0 and containing four bonus tracks and was promoted by a nationwide tour.
On May 17, 2019, the single La Somma was released, created together with Martina Attili and later certified gold. On March 13, 2020, the single Fiori di Chernobyl was released, reaching second place in the Top Singles. The Cluster choir took part in the piece.
In 2023 he participated for the first time in his career at the 73rd Sanremo Festival with the song Supereroi, finishing in third place on the final evening. Eight children from the Industrie Musicali school of Vallecrosia took part in the performance, singing the chorus, while the studio version of the same song was accompanied by the children's voices of the "Mitici Angioletti" choir by Zelo Buon Persico.
