EROS RAMAZZOTTI
Eros Ramazzotti was born in Rome in the Cinecittà neighborhood. He studied without much effort, but since he was a child he cultivated two passions: football and song. At eighteen he made his debut at the Castrocaro Festival and signed his first record deal. The following year, in 1982, he released his first 45 rpm (Ad un amico).
In 1984 he participated in the New Proposals section of the Sanremo Festival and achieved good success with Una terra promessa. Thus he also participated by right in the 1985 edition of the Sanremo Festival. He presented Una storia importante (included in his first album, Cuori agitati), and the reception was such that it allowed him to attempt a first approach to the European market. The following year he participated again in the Sanremo Festival and won among the big names with Adesso tu (included in the album Nuovi eroi).
Since 1987, for each of his new albums, a Spanish-language version intended for Latin American countries has been released at the same time.
In 1990, after two years of absence from the record market, he released the album In ogni senso, and decided to try his luck in the United States. He performed at Radio City Music Hall in New York and the show was a triumph. The new, very long tour ended with the double live album (Eros in concert), published on the occasion of the Concert broadcast worldwide from Barcelona.
The album Tutte Storie is revealed as the most ambitious and challenging work of his career: the outcome exceeded all expectations, thanks also to the sounding board constituted by the video clip made by director Spike Lee.
In 1996 the European tour ended just a few days before the birth of Aurora Sophie, daughter of Eros and his partner Michelle.
During his career he can boast numerous collaborations with internationally renowned artists, such as Tina Turner, Cher, Anastacia, Ricky Martin, Julio Iglesias, Luis Fonsi, Helene Fischer, Joe Cocker, Laura Pausini, Luciano Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli and Patsy Kensit.
