ARTISTI IN PIAZZA - PENNABILLI
Every year the city of Pennabilli becomes the capital of art and entertainment for an audience from 0 to 100 years old: 50 international companies, 350 performances of shows in 4 days, concerts and performances from all over the world. Numerous artistic disciplines are performed in the streets, squares, alleys and gardens of the historic center: music performances, theater performances, new circus, walking acts, clowning, juggling...
A part of the program is dedicated to children, who are also given the space of the Orto dei Frutti Dimenticati (creation of the maestro Tonino Guerra) where they can move freely and watch shows or participate in workshops dedicated to them.
But it doesn't end here: the Festival also hosts the traditional Mercatino del solito e dell'insolito, an artistic handicraft market, the result of a careful selection matured over the years, and the Cucine Erranti area, which brings together food stands and local restaurateurs who offer traditional and ethnic cuisine, snacks, fresh fruit and delicacies.
Since 1997, the International Festival of Performing Arts "Artisti in Piazza" has distinguished itself as one of the most important street art festivals scheduled in Italy, attracting more and more people every year until reaching around 40,000 attendees (average of the latest editions). Over time, it has evolved into a multidisciplinary festival, hosting all kinds of performing arts exhibited in the street. Each edition is characterized by national and international debuts.
Furthermore, on the occasion of Artisti in Piazza – Pennabilli Festival, the usual programming is accompanied by in-depth broadcasts on Cosmic Fringe Radio, the non-profit web radio born from the Ultimo Punto Cultural Association, which aims to promote border music and culture. The broadcasts are hosted by artists and special guests, with live highlights of each edition, interviews with participants and much more. An opportunity to further spread the vibrations of the Festival and to comment together on the shows of the various editions!
